Associate Director, Thought Leadership & Issues Communications

Associate Director role executing Bristol Myers Squibb's global enterprise thought leadership strategy and supporting crisis and issues communications. The position develops messaging and coordinates executive visibility opportunities while monitoring emerging risks and maintaining crisis preparedness protocols.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute thought leadership opportunities that elevate BMS leadership visibility and enterprise narrative
- Identify and recommend strategic thought leadership opportunities aligned with business priorities for leadership team members
- Develop earned media pitches and secure placements with top-tier national, business, and healthcare outlets
- Build and evolve crisis communications scenario planning and response protocols with cross-functional teams
- Provide strategic communications counsel during emerging issues, crises, and reputational risks
Requirements
- 8-10 years corporate communications, thought leadership, media relations, or issues management experience
- Proven success securing thought leadership placements with top-tier national and healthcare media
- Experience supporting senior executives in high-visibility external engagements and media interactions
- Strong writing ability to translate complex scientific and business topics into clear messaging
- Demonstrated crisis and issues management experience with framework and protocol development
- Project management skills in matrixed environments with ability to meet major deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Political Science, or related field
Compensation: $156,660 - $189,829
