Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1-2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ABLS required; CNOR, PALS, ACLS, and NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Experience with various surgical procedures including gynecology, plastics, trauma, podiatry, orthopedic, and general surgery. - Skills in administration of blood products, cardiac monitoring, conscious sedation monitoring, and infection control. - Proficiency in robotic surgery and endoscopic procedures. Description: The role involves providing nursing care in the operating room. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 for days, nights, and weekends. The daily census is approximately 20 patients. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend shifts are required, with an expectation of 8 shifts every six weeks. On-call duties will include one weekend every six weeks and one night per week. Regular floating between departments and units may be required. All staff must meet the outlined skills and equipment proficiency criteria. Compliance and completion of all necessary training and certifications are expected prior to employment. Additional skills in trauma response, emergency management, and patient safety protocols are essential. This position requires interaction with a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and pediatrics. Candidates must adhere to all compliance and training deadlines as outlined. Maintaining a professional demeanor while providing patient care is crucial. Commitment to quality care and continuous learning is expected.
