Structural Engineer (Mid-level) Greenville, South Carolina As a member of Garver's growing Water Design Center, the Structural Engineer will assist in the development of structural designs for new water and wastewater treatment plants and improvements to existing facilities. The role includes providing structural support for a variety of water and wastewater projects. Responsibilities Assist in the development of structural designs for water and wastewater treatment plants, including design calculations, drawings, and documentation. Collaborate with multi-disciplined project teams (civil, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control) to develop construction plans and specifications. Manage multiple projects concurrently and maintain accurate project accounting. Assist in the development of project budgets, scopes of work, and man‑hour estimates. Prepare written and oral project reports for clients and team leaders, covering design status, upcoming milestones, accounting, percent complete, and progress. Support the planning and execution of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans for water and wastewater treatment projects. Participate in internal and external project workshops. Commit to continuing education and learning based on project needs and team requirements. Support field work for site assessment and construction support; some travel may be required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited program. 5–10 years of technical experience in structural design engineering. Basic knowledge of structural design in concrete, masonry, and structural steel. Strong technical problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook). Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation (preferred). Basic knowledge of finite element modeling using plates and frame elements. Strong teamwork and self‑motivation. PE or ability to obtain a PE registration within 2 years. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in civil or structural engineering. Working knowledge of Revit CAD programs. Experience with structural complexities associated with water and wastewater treatment equipment. Active participation in local professional organizations. Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams in process, structural, building mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control disciplines.
