Job Description

• Manage multiple civil construction projects from pre-construction through final closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure successful project execution.
• Oversee Project Engineers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and field teams to drive project performance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, design consultants, municipal agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and procurement agreements.
• Monitor project costs, productivity, forecasting, and profitability to achieve financial objectives.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior leadership and clients.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, permits, contractual requirements, and quality standards.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving construction and operational challenges.
• Manage subcontractor performance, payment applications, and vendor relationships.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and specialized services.
• Enforce company safety policies and ensure projects comply with OSHA and industry regulations.
• Review RFIs, submittals, schedules, cost reports, and project documentation.
• Support business development initiatives by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying future opportunities.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Civil Project Manager should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5-10+ years of project management experience within heavy civil construction, infrastructure, roadway, utility, site development, or public works projects.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects ranging from $5M to $100M+ in value.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, project controls, scheduling, cost management, and risk mitigation.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
• Knowledge of New Jersey DOT, municipal, county, and utility construction standards is highly desirable.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification is advantageous but not required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey.
