THE ROLE: Technical program manager role is responsible for leading multi-discipline engineering team for key engineering initiatives from proof of concept to execution for next generation AMD data center system solutions.THE PERSON: The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development of products from Concept through Customer Ship, working with large, matrixed teams to plan and execute system level products. This role requires a blend of strong leadership and technical acumen to effectively navigate the complexities of data center driven projects. You will understand the technical challenges in the interaction of silicon, software and board elements on next generation computing system solutions. You are energized by working in a fast-paced technical organization across multiple sites, with multifaceted product requirementsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Partner with electrical, FW, thermal and mechanical engineering teams, enabling the definition, design and verification of product hardwareManage and lead electrical, thermal and mechanical pathfinding with architects, design and verification of all system design POCsWork with key electro-mechanical vendors, ensuring technical deliverables are met. Partner with supply chain managers for vendor selectionCoordinate with internal cross functional design and operations teams including product design, manufacturing engineering, firmware and software to develop cohesive development plansLead design issues & resolutions impacting system design program deliverablesDevelops and shares best-in-class processes to streamline and grow the organization to meet new challengesPREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Has driven product development with hardware platforms and related software ecosystem. Strong understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, etc.Demonstrated success in leading and delivering large-scale, cross-functional programs on time and within budget.Experience with hardware development, from foundry & OSAT to platform level architecture, design and execution in a fast-paced environment.Ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly and to lead and manage technical teamsProblem solving capability with confidence to evaluate risks and tradeoffs and present solution options to executive leadershipAbility to influence horizontally across multiple internal functional organizationsSkilled in interfacing with customers, partners and in managing joint-development projectsAbility to understand and extract action plans from complex technical discussions and translate into crisp messaging tailored for varied targeted audiencesAbility to nimbly address business and technical changes throughout the program lifecycle both from an internal and customer perspectiveExcellent written and verbal communication and executive level presentation skillsAnalytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented Seasoned in leveraging MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams or Confluence for clear communications and coordination of work.Familiarity with JAMA, JIRA and similar Systems Engineering requirements management and defect tracking tools.Experience with Agile software and project development methodologies preferredProactive with demonstrated creative, situational and critical thinking problem solving.Ability to network quickly and independently to align resources towards a common goal.Ability to support limited domestic travelPrevious experience in Semiconductor Industry - specifically New Product Development or IntroductionACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred)Masters in Business Administration or PMI PMP® Certification is a plus.LOCATION: Austin, Texas This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.#LI-TL1Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
