Do you love to teach Drums? We're seeking an experienced, advanced instructor who is friendly, enthusiastic about music education, and enjoys working with both children and adults. All of our teachers are working musicians and/or students, and absolutely love what they do. In particular, we are looking for instructors who can work 2 to 2 days per week.

Our school has a fantastic community of over 300 students. We combine weekly lessons with directed band rehearsals and teach through the live shows we present six times a year. Our working environment is well-organized, well-equipped, and fun. We love what we do, and it's extremely rewarding!

Working at School of Rock simplifies the lesson process. Our front desk staff handles all lesson scheduling and client communications. We set up all gear and teaching spaces for you. Just show up on time, stay engaged, and teach!

The School of Rock Music Instructor teaches students from ACDC to Zappa. The Instructor creates a safe and cool environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential, ensuring that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey. In support of that goal, the Instructor is responsible for all music and education-related elements within the lessons. The Instructor creates a dynamic lesson experience to ensure their students are challenged and inspired. Our instructors positively embody rock and roll and are responsible for creating a valuable learning experience for our students. We provide comprehensive training and support to enable our instructors to thrive. 

We teach five core areas at School of Rock: Drums, Guitar, Vocals, Keys , and Bass . Many of our instructors have broader musical talent as well, which we do our best to engage.

Music Instruction:

• Maximize the quality of music instruction in one-on-one lessons and, potentially, group rehearsals
• Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs
• Create thoughtful lessons, tailored to the student
• Document lesson notes 

Customer Connection:

• Communicate regularly with parents on the progress of students after lessons
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school
• Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance at the school
• Adheres to the SOR Code of Conduct, safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy. 

Skill Requirements:

• Experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
• Knowledge of music theory
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people 
• Strong organizational skills 
• Great customer relations skills
• Resourceful and good problem-solver
• Our Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor 
• Good judgment is a must
• Passion for teaching
• Embraces technology and learning platforms as provided by the School of Rock
