What You’ll Do Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Exercise professional judgment to provide health care services, which include applying x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups. Perform and analyze patient x‑rays and report results to Medical Providers. Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of Mercy‑GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. Essential Functions Responsible for x‑ray services as needed. Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x‑ray services for patients by applying x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use; may need to push patient in a wheelchair. Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit; perform preliminary physical test (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and elevate critical cases to provider as needed. Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to provider. Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files; conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up on care. Perform daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs; troubleshoot breakdowns; perform preventive maintenance and submit repair tickets as necessary. Collaborate with the ordering/treating provider to determine which procedures or views will best assist in accurate diagnoses and treatment. Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly. Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answer their questions. Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results. Select proper ionizing factors by adjusting/setting radiographic controls to capture clear, high‑quality diagnostic images. Perform routine maintenance, cleaning of X‑ray equipment, and manage necessary supplies. Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA to minimize exposure to patients and staff. Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures in electronic systems and/or logbooks as required. Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation. Knowledge of X‑ray procedures and protocols, anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X‑ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement, and radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology. Position patients properly for the X‑ray procedure required; identify equipment problems and correct or notify supervisor; follow infection control and radiological safety procedures. Job Requirements Education: High School Diploma required; ARRT certification required. Work Experience: Experience in a clinical setting preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA); American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.
