Director of Engineering

Salary: $60,000 - 100,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 5+ years leading engineering teams.
• We need proven leadership experience managing software development teams and delivering enterprise-scale applications.
• We require a strong understanding of secure software development lifecycles (DevSecOps), zero-trust architecture, cloud-native deployments such as AWS GovCloud and Azure Government, and data security.
• We seek experience delivering secure, scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications.
• We value strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Preferred: experience in government technology, civic technology, elections, campaign finance, voter registration, or public-sector business services.
• Preferred: knowledge of government security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, FedRAMP, or CJIS.
• Preferred: experience leading cloud modernization, operational excellence, and technology transformation initiatives.

• We will lead software development, architecture, quality engineering, and DevOps to drive engineering excellence.
• We will build, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams through effective hiring and organizational planning.
• We will modernize development workflows to support predictable, high-quality feature delivery across long government procurement and release cycles.
• We will ensure compliance with federal and state cybersecurity requirements, including standards such as NIST, FedRAMP, and CJIS.
• We will assess and adopt emerging technologies to improve system performance, security, and user experience.
• We will partner with product management and client services to turn customer needs into technical solutions.
• We will translate complex government RFP requirements into flexible, iterative engineering roadmaps with Product and Sales.
• We will modernize legacy government workflows by promoting scalable cloud-native architectures, API-first design, and strong data privacy controls.
• We will represent the company in technical discussions with government partners and regulatory bodies.
• We will establish coding standards, conduct architecture reviews, and reinforce best practices for system stability.
