Join the event here: About Us and Our Program Easterseals, a national nonprofit, has supported individuals with disabilities for over 50 years. Its Career Pathway Connections program offers person‑centered employment services for individuals who are Deaf, Deaf‑Blind, or hard of hearing, providing ASL‑proficient support, workplace accommodations, and assistive technology to remove employment barriers. What You’ll Do The Interpreter will provide interpreting support services to Easterseals staff, clients, and external community agencies. They will interpret for a variety of activities including but not limited to staff meetings, employee training, organization town halls/meetings, and other stakeholder meetings as required. Key Responsibilities Include Creates an equal access environment for Deaf staff and clients by providing interpretation for a variety of activities including but not limited to staff meetings, employee trainings, stakeholder meetings, client meetings. Uses interpreting skills for the novice Deaf staff, assists during staff training and organizational meetings. Mentors and develops ENJ’s non‑certified interpreting staff by creating professional development plans and researching effective training programs to improve staff’s professional interpreting skills. Develops a professional development curriculum to train/enhance the skills of our novice interpreting staff. Conducts sign language skill assessments for potential new hires. Assists novice interpreting staff by conducting evaluations and providing effective skills feedback. Conducts weekly follow‑up meetings with novice staff to help improve their interpretation skills. Researches workshops and training opportunities that would work for our staff. Interprets for ENJ’s internal & external stakeholders, including but not limited to regulatory audits and state‑required meetings. Attends and represents Easterseals at State agency meetings. Ensures that vehicles and equipment are maintained and in proper working order. Who You Are Education: Associate degree in Interpreting or related field; Bachelors’ Degree preferred. Certification: RID Interpreter Certification required. Experience: 5+ years of interpreting experience; well‑versed in Deaf culture. Proven experience mentoring and creating professional development plans for interpreters is a plus. Requirements: Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record; ability to work flexible hours based on business needs. Skills: Excellent problem solving, planning and organization skills. Working knowledge of MS Office; proficient with ZOOM. Additional: This role requires driving as an essential function. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be subject to post‑offer verification of driving eligibility consistent with company insurance requirements.
