Electrical Superintendent (Mission Critical)

Salary: $50/hr - $60/hr (Based on Experience)
Location: Charlotte, NC

Position Overview
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent with a strong background in mission critical construction to lead field electrical operations for complex projects such as data centers, commercial and industrial facilities, and high-rise and ground-up construction. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on-site electrical construction activities, supervising electricians and foremen to meet schedule, safety, and quality goals.
• Oversee mission-critical systems including power distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers, and emergency power.
• Coordinate with project teams, engineers, BIM staff, and trades to resolve issues and maintain project flow.
• Enforce safety and quality programs through job walks, toolbox talks, and inspections.
• Manage testing, startup, and commissioning to ensure system performance and reliability.
• Review drawings, BIM models, RFIs, and submittals to ensure accurate installation.
• Direct subcontractors and vendors, track productivity, and report project progress.
• Coordinate schedules, deliveries, and site logistics to meet key milestones.
• Maintain field documentation, punch lists, change orders, and project closeout records.
• Mentor field personnel, support workforce development, and maintain positive labor relations (IBEW preferred)

Qualifications

• 6+ years of electrical construction experience.
• 3+ years as an Electrical Superintendent on mission-critical projects.
• Experience with UPS, switchgear, generators, ATS, grounding, and power distribution systems.
• Background in data centers, commercial, industrial, and ground-up construction projects.
• Ability to read electrical plans, schematics, single-line diagrams, and BIM models.
• Knowledge of commissioning, testing, and startup of critical electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, and electrical safety standards.
• Proven leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
• Experience with IBEW/union crews preferred; Foreman or Project Management experience a plus.
• Journeyman certification, electrical contractor background, or related technical degree preferred.
