Qualifications:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of related work experience.
• Must pass MVR check.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Must possess a valid Texas Class C driver's license.

The Irrigation Technician performs skilled work in the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the Town's irrigation systems and related components. The position ensures proper system functionality, water efficiency, and compliance with operational standards by diagnosing and repairing irrigation and electrical issues, programming and monitoring controllers, assisting with backflow device testing, and coordinating with staff to support landscaping operations and special events.

You're on call during a special event and receive a report of overspray onto a public walkway. Describe how you would prioritize, communicate, and resolve the issue (controller adjustments, nozzle checks, safety around pedestrians), while coordinating with staff and maintaining professional customer service.

Walk through your process to locate and repair an underground lateral leak: the tools you'd use (e.g., tracer, shovel, compression or non-mechanical fittings), how you would verify the repair, and how you would restore the landscape (e.g., sod replacement). Include how you would document the work order and parts used.
