Details Neurology/Telemetry unit (6C) in a hospital setting with 32 beds Patient population includes neurological, medical, and med-tele patients Night shift hours: 19:00–07:30 Patient ratios vary: days 1:5–1:6, nights 1:6–1:7 Equipment used includes telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, and tube feeding pumps EMR: Epic Floating required on a rotational basis No on-call requirements Weekends required as determined by the facility 13-week contract Requirements Active RN license — must be licensed in Missouri or eligible for MO licensure (MO state or compact license accepted) Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted) BLS certification from AHA required NIHSS certification required prior to start date Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient telemetry experience required Experience and competence in drug titration required 1 year of inpatient neuro experience preferred No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, and turn patients with assistance; push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs. Additional Information Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; candidate must be available the entire orientation week Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1 — declinations are not accepted Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but should be aware that local candidates are subject to a reduced bill rate Candidates residing within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this facility; after that, a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week of the assignment Only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment Black scrubs are required; no other scrub colors are accepted High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids is expected in this role The facility is a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and a Level 2 Stroke Center American Traveler Job ID #P-728213.
