To aid other shop personnel to complete assignments made by the Production Supervisor. Must be skilled and knowledgeable and capable of supplementing the leaders directions by providing detailed information to workers with less lower skill levels. Perform functions within company safety guidelines. Responsibilities: Plan assembly procedures using blueprints Check availability of parts, components, and materials (i.e. use MFGpro to confirm allocations, locations, and part disposition) Follow-up on shortages or faulty parts Assemble parts and components in proper sequence Make all required corrections/modifications according to work order/customer request As much as possible, test and troubleshoot assemblies and make all necessary adjustments for the proper operation of the rig before release to test pad Assist in assigning duties Order Bill of Materials (BoM) and blueprints Maintain the cleanliness of the assembly area Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor Follow prescribed safety regulations / guidelines Maintain work related records and reports (i.e. quality defects, unplanned material requisition) Ensure availability of all stored supplies Perform other duties as required or directed Train new hires Complete appropriate paperwork for rejected parts Return leftover parts back to Warehouse Knowledge/Education: HS Diploma or GED required The training period for this position: Six months to a year Prior Positions/Training: Two year minimum in current skill set with some leadership and training skills Must have training in reading blueprints and electrical and hydraulic schematics Skills and Abilities: Required to read, write and comprehend English Use and comprehend specifications, blueprints, BoM’s and schematics Ability to work shop orders using fundamental knowledge of assembly techniques and applications Overall knowledge of product line Familiar with basic hand tools, mechanical assembly, electrical sequences and techniques Basic understanding of troubleshooting principles Knowledge of MFG Pro transactions that directly affect their work area This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job. It includes a range of settings - from a professional office environment to rugged field conditions - often in some of the most remote, beautiful and pristine areas of the world. When working on the production floor or in testing areas, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including a hard hat or bump cap, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes. The work environment involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. Employees are required to lift up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift 100 pounds or more. The role may also require climbing heights of 4-6 feet using ladders and operating powered industrial trucks to reach elevations of up to 50 feet.
