Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) is responsible for specialized advanced support for the Department's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Mobile Digital Computer (MDC), and desktop infrastructure. The ITS I will identify, manage, and propose technical solutions, tasks, and Information Technology (IT) resources. The ITS I performs a wide

variety of tasks requiring regular innovative problem-solving within broadly stated and non-specific guidelines. Performs effectively in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities for the Department.

Working Conditions

Office environment, Monday through Friday 0800-1700 hours. The incumbent must be able to give presentations, participate at meetings, and interact with others. Some travel may be required for projects, training and conferences. Must maintain consistent and predictable attendance.

1. Describe your knowledge, skills, and abilities in troubleshooting complex IT technical issues within a specialized IT ecosystem. Please include an example of a complex technical issue that you experienced and how you resolved the issue.
2. Describe your experience administering enterprise infrastructure services that support Active Directory in a Windows Environment.
3. Describe your experience as a domain administrator and supporting an enterprise IT infrastructure. Include the size and complexity of the environments you have supported. 

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Experience administering enterprise Microsoft Active Directory environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware.
• Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex enterprise infrastructure and authentication issues.
• Knowledge of Windows security best practices and Active Directory hardening.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to act as a subject matter expert to facilitate transfer of knowledge.
• Database SQL knowledge and practices
• Law enforcement experience with CLETS, CJIS, Computer aided dispatch software.
