Machine Preparation Specialist

Job Description

Responsibilities

Machine Preparation & Shipping

Use forklift or pallet jack to transport machinery safely throughout the facility
Uncrate inbound machines and stage them for inspection
Verify parts and accessories against customer orders and documentation
Power up and operate machines to confirm functionality
Perform basic adjustments as needed to ensure operational readiness
Re-crate machines, package accessories, and prepare units for freight
Generate shipping labels and complete all required paperwork/digital records

Sample Testing & Configuration

Set up machines according to customer specifications to test casing samples
Determine appropriate clip size and configuration for each application

Mechanical Adjustments & Maintenance

Remove, replace, and adjust machine components during prep or general maintenance
Reference parts manuals to identify correct replacement components and stage parts for ordering
Perform chemical etching after voltage conversion or machine reconfiguration

Shop Support

Assist tool room technicians with machine repairs and modifications
Support fabrication or machining of parts as directed
Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications

Required:

Prior experience in a mechanical, warehouse, or equipment-handling environment
Comfortable using hand tools and mechanical components
Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire)
Basic computer skills for record keeping and labeling
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred:

Experience in equipment assembly, machine maintenance, or industrial shipping
Familiarity with reading technical manuals or schematics
Basic knowledge of voltage, pneumatic, or mechanical systems
