Box Truck Driver (Temporary 6-Week Assignment)
Location: Portland, ME Area Pay: $20.00 per hour, M-Fr Job Type: Temporary (6 Weeks)
Job Summary: We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Box Truck Driver to support a busy event production company in the Portland, Maine area. This is a temporary 6-week assignment with an immediate start. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering event supplies, equipment, and materials to various event locations while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional appearance.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck to transport event supplies and equipment
- Load and unload materials at warehouse and event locations
- Follow delivery schedules and routes efficiently
- Inspect vehicle before and after each shift
- Ensure all deliveries are accurate and complete
- Assist with basic setup and breakdown activities when needed
- Maintain compliance with all traffic laws and company safety policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and event personnel
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Previous box truck or delivery driving experience preferred
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with the Portland, ME area is a plus
Schedule
- Temporary assignment lasting approximately 6 weeks
- Full-time hours available
- Some early mornings, evenings, or weekends may be required based on event schedules
