Job Description Job Description STAR PIPE PRODUCTS Job Title: Plant Manager Note: MUST be bilingual/fluentin both English and Spanish Summary Lead the launch. Build the team. Drive results. We're seeking a Plant Manager to spearhead the setup of our finishing and assembly departments and lead cross-functional manufacturing teams to achieve bold corporate goals. This is a hands-on leadership role with real impact — shaping operations and people from the ground up. We’re excited to hear from driven leaders — only qualified candidates will be considered. Plant Manager Essential Functions: Draw up and revise monthly, weekly, and daily production schedules based on customer requirements and production shortfalls. Ensure daily production targets are met and coordinate timely delivery of finished goods. Oversee proper execution of production plans and adherence to material and quality standards. Monitor and optimize finishing operations to control costs, maintain quality, and minimize lead time and rejections. Establish machine norms and support new equipment integration. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all departmental processes. Optimize inventory usage and take measures to reduce overall operating costs. Develop strategies to minimize downtime and improve machine utilization in coordination with Plant Maintenance. Ensure timely execution of maintenance projects and compliance with health and safety guidelines. Support team development through performance management, training, and coordination with HR. Maintain effective reporting and information flow within the department. Plant Manager Responsibilities: - Efficiency, Budgeting, Maintenance, Scheduling, Compliance, & Staffing Efficiency Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, implementing change. Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality Administer all work according to company policies and recommend strategies to improve processes. Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production Ensuring real-time data availability in ERP system. Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data. Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations Analyze the root cause for the variance in productivity and come up with the corrective action and effective implementation of the corrective action for the result. Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime Analyze the root cause for the QC non-conformance and come up with the corrective action and effective implementation of the corrective action for the result. Budgeting Evaluate and maintain all department budgets and analyze all variances for the same. Authorize all overtime, outside repair cost, expenses on account of buying new equipment, spares, and consumables after analyzing the financial justification of the cost. Maintenance Coordinate with equipment and process teams (Manufacturing Engineering) and ensure compliance with all protocols and maintain product quality. Work with Maintenance manager to prepare maintenance schedule to ensure increased uptime of the equipment and production processes. Scheduling Manage and prioritize all production processes and implement all production plans with Scheduler. Establish clear goals for Assistant Managers and Supervisors to meet the customer commitment by fulfilling the work schedule within the planned timeframe. Compliance Develop and maintain effective relations with all company employees at various levels of the organization. (DC, QC, Scheduling, Manufacturing Engineer, CSR group, HR) Maintain and provide support to all ISO programs and prepare training programs for all status boards. Work with the EHS manager to ensure compliance with workplace policies according to safety objectives, and verify all environmental, health, and safety standards are met to keep the organization accident-free. Staffing Motivate, support, and provide guidance to Assistant Management and Supervisors Maintain staff by working with HR on recruitment needs and providing continuous training to employees while developing personal growth opportunities. Analyze staffing requirements and ensure efficient compliance to production schedules and budget for all production processes. Evaluate vacation schedule for Assistant Management and Supervising staff to ensure production isn’t affected. Ensure managers and supervisors maintain and manage all data in relation to attendance Handle personnel issues with employees and HR when needed Education/Experience Required: 4-year college degree or equivalent At least 5-7 years of experience as a machine shop plant or production manager Knowledge, Skills, Certification Required: Bilingual in Spanish and English is a must. Proven experience as plant or production manager. Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach. Must have strong technical abilities and knowledge to evaluate and improve the operations of various machinery and tools Impressive leadership skills to motivate and guide the production team to complete tasks efficiently Should hold exceptional time-management and organizational qualities to ensure all responsibilities are completed on time Should have effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills to brainstorm quick and logical solutions. Proficient in MS Office and ERP software Preferred: Working knowledge of CNC machines A solid understanding of the Materials function (purchasing, planning/scheduling, MRP, supplier management, etc.) Physical demands The ability to sit for extended periods of time Work Environment Outdoor production shop environment / some office work environment Star Pipe Products is an Equal Opportunity Employer Company Description We are the proud owner of a U.S.A. foundry situated in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.
