Risk Management Specialist Department Org: Risk Management - 110510 Employee Classification: U1 - Unclassified PSA FT Bargaining Unit: Professional Staff Association Primary Location: MC AD Shift: 1 Posted Salary: starting at 56,262; Salary commensurate witheducation and experience Job Description This position supports the University’s insurance and riskmanagement programs with insurance program administration, providerinsurability review, claims reporting coordination, and risk dataanalysis. The position will work closely with internal departments,third-party administrators, brokers, and insurance partners tosupport the effective management of the University’s insuranceportfolio, including professional liability, general liability, andother institutional coverages. This role plays a key operational role in maintaining insurancedocumentation, coordinating claims reporting, supportingunderwriting and provider onboarding processes, and preparing lossdata used for actuarial analysis, renewals, and internal reporting.Working collaboratively across departments, the position willdemonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and strongorganizational skills while interacting with leadership, faculty,staff, external insurers, brokers, and third-party administrators.This position will demonstrate a commitment to accuracy,accountability, and service while supporting the University’smission and commitment to the safety and well-being of students,faculty, staff, and the broader University of Toledocommunity. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors + 3 years of progressive experience is required, or 5years of experience in lieu of education. 3 to 5 years of experience supporting insurance, risk management,claims processing and underwriting. Familiarity with reviewing or processing Certificates ofInsurance and related insurance documentation. Strong attention to detail when reviewing technical or compliancerelated documentation. Experience using risk management, claims or insurance-relatedsystems. Proficiency using Microsoft Excel to track, organize and maintaindata in a high-volume environment. Demonstrated experience with data accuracy, managingdocumentation processes, including tracking deadlines, identifyinggaps and following up with stakeholders. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and manage multiple ongoing projects at thesame time. Ability to communicate effective and work collaborately withinternal departments and external stakeholders. Higher education experience is preferred.
