Additional Job Description West Virginia University School of Medicine - Eastern Division Department of Behavioral Medicine seeks a Child/Adolescent Psychiatry physician (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Berkeley and Jefferson County, West Virginia. Duties The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for a state medical license. Successful candidates must have completed a Psychiatry residency and a Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. Successful candidates must be board certified or eligible in Psychiatry. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Location The Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia is a little more than an hour from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD, close to three international airports. A rural atmosphere and a lower cost of living mixed with easy accessibility to the Washington DC/Baltimore areas make the Eastern Panhandle an ideal place to live. While Berkeley County is among the fastest growing counties in the state, there is little congestion and traffic. In recent years, a steady influx of urban professionals from nearby Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland has contributed to growth in local telecommuting and high‑tech industries.
