Salary Range: $19.95- $26.99/hour - Free Recreation Center Pass (Gym & Pool)

General Description of Work
The Motor Vehicle Specialist I, is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a positive attitude and exemplifies behaviors of an effective team player while performing a variety of duties associated with the Broomfield County Motor Vehicle Department. The incumbent performs complex and specialized technical and administrative work in support of the Motor Vehicle Division services offered to residents including the titling and registering of motor vehicles, Manufactured Homes and disability services. Under direct supervision, the incumbent analyzes, regulates and enforces statutory requirements for all state and federally mandated title and registration laws as well as Broomfield departmental policies and procedures. This individual must exemplify the characteristics and behaviors to create a collaborative, innovative and resilient work culture in partnership with the leadership team. The incumbent works in partnership with other employees, departments/divisions, agencies and the public in delivering effective and innovative services while maintaining confidentiality of information consistent with applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations.
Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties

Examples of duties are not intended to be all-inclusive or restrictive.) State of Colorado Responsibilities:
- Complete required State Certifications as well as continued education classes needed to access state web based operating system.
- Acts as an agent of the State of Colorado and works closely with the Department of Revenue to research, identify and resolve title/registration transaction issues.
- Maintains confidentiality and awareness of federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations pertaining to assigned State, City and County operations.
- Work directly with the recording department to ensure State transactions are transferred to County records.
- Interact daily with other DOR entities including: Taxation, NIC, Colorado Interactive, NMVTIS, Air Care Colorado, E-470, State of Colorado Dealer Investigations Unit, the Address Confidentiality Program, all state appointed third party vendors and fellow City and County organizations.
Motor Vehicle Tech I Responsibilities:
- Assist Broomfield residents and businesses via phone, mail, email or in person regarding ownership account review, titlework auditing and general communication addressing policies and procedures.
- Processes check, cash, credit card, escrow and electronic check payments utilizing the cash tendering system
- Reconciles cash, check and credit card payments at close of business.
- Prepare concise and accurate correspondence to dealers, financial institutions, residents, and City and County officials.
- Assist with office closing procedures, eg: Securing Inventory and legal documentation and ensuring organization and cleanliness of work areas.
- Competently operate State of Colorado web based operating system
- Work cross departmentally within CCOB
- Conduct the following types of transactions:
- Temporary registrations
- Title transfers
- Emissions extensions
- Leases and Lease Buyouts
- License plate renewals
- Disability placards
- New registrations
- Special mobile machinery
- Refinancing
- Manufactured homes
- Salvage titles
- Bonds
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma/GED
- Obtain DRIVES Compliance Certification within one week from the date of hire and maintain the certification.
- Completion of DRIVES LMS training within 90 days of hire.
Experience
- One (1) year of experience in a clerical or customer service field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities preferred
Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.

- Regular, predictable attendance required
