Richmond, IL, USA – Full time – Job ID: R26_0000018577 Overview We are so much more than a Parts Store and are looking for great talent to join our NAPA family as a Counter Sales Associate. This role is the ‘face of the retail store,’ the primary point of contact for customers entering our retail locations for all of their automotive needs. Responsibilities Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone. Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions. Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who visits the NAPA Store. Bring customer focus and high energy to our fast‑paced stores. Welcome retail customers into the store and engage to provide a positive consumer experience. Use technology, computer, cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system. What Makes You a Good Fit Genuinely enjoy helping retail and wholesale customers with auto parts and service questions. Have gained parts experience by working in the automotive industry or have tinkered with/repaired cars & trucks over the year. Willing to learn all things automotive if you do not yet have a background in parts. Want to join a team where you can learn and grow your career—opportunities are endless. Requirements Valid driver’s license. Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or at least a willingness to learn. High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Enjoy fast‑paced retail environments. Great listening skills and empathy for customers. Preferred (Nice to Have) Background or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership. Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision. Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems. Entirely customer‑centric (external/internal).
