Middle School Vice Principal

Job Summary The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System. Serve as a member of a collaborative leadership structure within a secondary educational environment; provide leadership for supervision and support of teachers and students. Promote a positive school culture through academic and extra‑curricular activities. Reports to the principal. Responsibilities Manage student information database system and generate reports as needed. Assist the principal in overall administration of the school. Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and address special cases as necessary for the assigned class. Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance; work with the attendance supervisor on investigative follow‑up actions. Work with principal and faculty groups in compiling annual budget requests. Coordinate preparation of student and staff schedules, course of studies, etc. Promote and participate in extracurricular activities. Serve with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested to advance educational activities and objectives. Participate in assessment of and changes in the school curriculum. Requisition educational textbooks, supplies, and equipment; conduct inventories, maintain records, and verify receipts. Observe and/or evaluate school staff as required. Prepare reports on a periodic basis or as directed by the principal. Serve as acting principal in the principal’s absence. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the principal. Qualifications Master's Degree. Appropriate Massachusetts teaching license. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in education, including equivalent experience at the appropriate license level. Salary and Terms of Employment In accordance with the Fall River Administrators Association Contract. Employment is contingent on job performance, program needs, and funding. Salary scale 24‑25: $87,051 to $124,440. Closing Date for Applications As indicated on webpage.
