Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician I - Day Shift to join our team located in Richmond IN.

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, and resolving complex issues related to motors, pneumatics, tools, and production machines and equipment.

Mon- Thurs 5:00 am - 3:30 pm and Fridays as needed.

What Success Looks Like:

• Repairs and reconditions hydraulic/pneumatic systems (airlines, solenoids).
• Replaces and repairs electrical equipment/components.
• Repairs and maintains material systems.
• Installs plumbing, air and electrical utilities necessary for machine operation.
• Ensures machine properly functions (voltage, proper operation).
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Support facility maintenance

Your Credentials:

• 3+ years’ experience preferred- Individuals with less experience will be considered with training opportunities available for the right candidate. 
• Intermediate level of experience with and knowledge of electrical and mechanical applications.
• Intermediate experience with the use of a variety of hand and mechanical tools for equipment repair.

The hourly rate falls within a range of $26.00/hr to $33.00/hr depending on experience, qualifications, and the job responsibilities.
