CFS is partnering with a highly regarded professional services organization to identify a Controller to lead and oversee the firm's accounting and financial operations. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a law firm background who enjoys working closely with firm leadership and driving financial excellence. The position offers a hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite in Boston and a competitive salary range of $160,000-$190,000. Controller Responsibilities Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management functions Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes Monitor firm profitability and provide strategic financial insights to leadership Coordinate annual audits and tax-related activities Develop and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and compliance procedures Oversee partner compensation and related financial reporting Manage banking relationships and cash flow planning Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members Controller Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA strongly preferred Required: Prior law firm accounting experience 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including management responsibilities Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Proficiency with accounting and financial management systems Why This Controller Opportunity?
