About the Job $28-$32 Base Pay Complimentary Continued Education $3000 per year Tuition Assistance Benefits – Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days Flex Pay – Daily pay option PTO package And more Purpose Statement The Counselor I provides treatment and support to assist clients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders, or other behavioral problems, assists with modifying problem behaviors; may also provide counseling services to families of clients. Roles and Responsibilities Participates in client treatment planning and continuum of care. Conducts group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required. Co-facilitates assigned group or family sessions and assists with modifying problem behaviors. Responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessments for clients. Prepares individual treatment plan for each assigned client. Ensures all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner. Acts as a liaison between referral sources and clients. Provides crisis intervention to clients, as needed. Plans for aftercare for assigned clients. Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested. Provides case management duties for clients, ensuring individualized quality care. Evaluates the need of the client and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed. Provides client and family education relative to substance use disorder/psychiatric problems. Conducts educational workshops both within the Facility and in the community as required. Serves as a liaison with self‑help groups and EAP professionals. Conducts ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the Facility treatment programs. Additional Responsibilities Complies with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintains regulatory and industry standards. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Accepts responsibility for professional growth and development of self and attends all mandatory facility in‑services and staff development activities as scheduled. Maintains professionalism and confidentiality of facility employees and clients. Performs other duties as assigned. Education / Experience / Skill Requirements Bachelor’s degree in social or health services field required. Experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum through education or certification process required. Licenses / Designations / Certifications Licensure or certification for counseling, as required by the state in which the facility operates; OR state license or certification eligible within the timeframe designated by the facility. CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility.
