Clinical Coordinator (RN) - PACU - Evenings

Sign-On Bonus $15,000 sign-on bonus for offers accepted by June 30, 2026. Terms and conditions apply . Hours Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 1 pm – 11 pm. Four ten‑hour shifts each week. Job Overview The Clinical Coordinator facilitates patient flow, coordinates activities and communication for the clinical area nursing unit during the assigned shift. This person serves as a resource and leader for patients, staff, health care providers, administration and other disciplines. Responsibilities Facilitate patient flow and coordinate clinical activities in the nursing unit. Serve as a resource and leader for patients, staff, providers, administration and other disciplines. Ensure patient care is delivered efficiently, caring and courteous. Follow documented physician/licensed independent provider orders. Characterize work with input from patient/family to achieve specific outcomes. Organize and delegate tasks to RN's, LPNs, Care Partners, Unit Secretaries, etc. Collaborate with other disciplines to support patient care. Independent Actions Follow documented physician/licensed independent provider orders. Practice within Virginia nursing regulations. Follow ANA Code of Ethics for Nursing and national practice standards. Apply VCUHS policies, procedures and practice guidelines. Supervisory Responsibilities Organize work and delegate and supervise nurses, LPNs, care partners, unit secretaries, and other staff. Additional Position Requirements Work designated shifts, days of week, and/or holidays based on area. Shift rotations and schedules will be established with supervisor. Schedules may be adjusted to meet clinical area unit requirements. Education and Training Required: Diploma or Associate’s Degree from a recognized nursing program. Current RN licensure in Virginia. AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent. All registered nurses without a Bachelor’s degree must enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of start and complete within five years. Preferred: Academic health‑care experience; experience with similar patient population in acute care; Certification in specialty area; Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Nursing from an accredited program. Experience Minimum 3 years of clinical experience. Charge nurse or supervisory experience. Academic health‑care experience preferred. Experience with similar patient population preferred. Licensure & Certification Requirements Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact state. Current RN licensure in Virginia; AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent. Physical & Other Requirements Lifting 50–100 lbs. Exposure to hazardous or infectious substances. Prolonged standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, reaching. Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking, writing, reading, logical thinking. Ability to handle fast‑pace environment and adapt to frequent change.
