We are currently seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse / Nursing Supervisor to support our clinic in Tacoma, WA. This position, reporting to the Clinic Medical Director, is an excellent opportunity for someone excited to make an immediate and lasting impact in a growing company. Position Overview At Cedar Wellness Clinic, we understand the central role that nurses play in the experience of each patient. Nurses are often the most crucial source of empathy and support for patients during routine treatment and times of crisis. Ambulatory care nursing practice is a complex, multifaceted specialty that is both independent and collaborative as nurse partner with patients, caregivers, physicians, and other health care professionals to meet the health and illness needs of individuals, groups and communities. Under the supervision and in collaboration with the Clinic Director, Director of Nursing and Medical Director, the RN Supervisor coordinates the direct care activities of nursing staff and allied health professionals (LVN, CMA) to provide care to patients. These direct care activities will improve quality, patient experience, and care outcomes. The RN Nursing Supervisor supports organizational plans and directives. They oversee competency based educational programming for RNs and other allied health care professionals including LVNs and CMAs. RN Nursing Supervisor will facilitate the development of professional values and value-based behaviors. The RN Nursing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all RN, LVN and CMAs are clinically competent and understand their roles and responsibilities in the context of a patient centered, team-based environment. The care team will deliver care in the most efficient, standardized and evidence-based process. The RN Supervisor seeks collaboration and consultation with other health professionals. They will assist in the ongoing assessment of clinical education and team approaches to patient care. The Supervisor will be a content expert in standardized workflows. They will be responsible to gather and evaluate data to improve practice support, quality care and clinical staff competency in collaboration with the Clinic Director, Director of Nursing and Medical Director. The RN Supervisor will also perform nursing services to patients in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, telephone triage, performing patient education, care coordination, assessing patient’s physical and psychological needs, administering medications, assisting providers with procedures, and responding to medical emergencies. Indian Preference applies. Qualified Indian (American Indian or Alaskan Native) applicants will receive preference in accordance with 25 U.S.C. § 5323 and 25 U.S.C. § 472a. Minimum Requirements Graduate of accredited RN program, bachelor’s degree in nursing highly desirable. Active RN License in good standing. Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the Board of Licensure and organizational needs. 5 years clinical experience. One year supervisory, leadership position highly desirable. BLS Certification, ACLS Certification preferred. Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic life support. Ability to pass drug and background screening. Ability to provide health and TB clearance. Licensure in good standing and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Requirements Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS. 2 years of recent/previous work experience in substance use disorder setting. Required Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Participates in case conferences, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas among team members. Administer/dispense medications/vaccines in accordance with applicable regulations and policy. Ensure the treatment plans are being followed. Other related responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting in training staff in medical matters and patient care; attendance at professional meetings as required; assistance of Physician during physical examinations; maintenance of dispensing room; maintenance of medical equipment. Possess the knowledge and understanding of how to recognize and manage an opioid overdose. Ability to react to frequent changes in duties and volume of work. Demonstrate customer‑first attitude and philosophy. Ability to learn computer and application skills as applicable to role. Basic computer and software experience using MS Office products. Ability to make judgments in demanding situations. Ability to listen empathetically. Ability to logically organize details. Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities. Knowledge of interpersonal communications in a complex organization. Commitment to respectful patient and family centered care. Commitment to respectful treatment of all colleagues. Dispense medications and maintain records for controlled substances. $73 - $73 an hour Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this classification. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person, by telephone. While performing the duties of this classification, the employee works in an office setting where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
