Physician Assistant - Urgent Care

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our partner's Urgent Care team in Roseville, CA. Under the direction of a supervising physician, you will provide high-quality, patient-focused care to a diverse patient population.


Position Overview


As an Urgent Care Physician Assistant, you will play a central role in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses and injuries. Your primary duties will include performing comprehensive physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing therapeutic procedures. The position operates on a specific rotating schedule to ensure patient access to care during evening and weekend hours. Your responsibilities may also vary based on the needs of the supervising physician and department.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical exams, and compile patient medical data, including health history. Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies and laboratory tests, and interpret results.
• Treatment & Procedures: Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and managing infections. You may also perform other department-specific diagnostic or therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Patient Management & Education: Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in providing continuity of care. You will instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed regimens, health maintenance, and other relevant education.
• Inpatient & Surgical Support: Depending on specific specialty needs, additional duties may include facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges, rounding on inpatients, and assisting in surgical procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program by the start date.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  
  
  • A California Physician Assistant License is required at hire.
  • A Physician Assistant National Certificate is required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required at hire.
  • A National Provider Identifier is required at hire.
• Additional Requirements:
  
  
  • A Fluoroscopy Permit is required or must be obtained within 18 months from the date of hire for specific specialties.
  • May be required to have experience and competency in performing specific tasks.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
