AEC Marketing Graphic Design Specialist

We are seeking a creative, highly organized, and digitally proficient AEC Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist to join our architecture firm and support the continued growth and visibility of our practice. This position combines graphic design, digital marketing, website management, social media, and AEC communications. We are seeking someone with strong visual judgment, cultural fluency, excellent software skills, and a contemporary point of view. This individual should be able to translate complex architectural and design ideas into clear, compelling communications.

The ideal candidate is a designer first , conceptually minded, highly organized, and able to move between visual direction, presentations, imagery, websites, social media, and project coordination. At the positions core is the ability to synthesize project photographs, drawings, renderings, written content, and technical information, then thoughtfully curate those materials into clear and compelling visual narratives. Working closely with firm leadership and project teams, this individual will help shape how the firm presents its work, people, and ideas to clients, project partners, prospective employees, and the broader design community.

Primary Responsibilities

\n

Graphic Design & Visual Communications

\n

\n
• Develop high-quality graphic materials that communicate the firm's identity, capabilities, and project work.
\n
• Design marketing brochures, project sheets, qualifications packages, presentations, award submissions, advertisements, event materials, and other collateral.
\n
• Establish and maintain consistent visual standards across printed and digital materials.
\n
• Maintain and organize the firm's library of project photography, graphics, logos, resumes, project descriptions, and other marketing assets.
\n
• Prepare presentations and graphics for client meetings, interviews, conferences, and public presentations.
\n
• Collaborate with architects and project teams to select and prepare project imagery and supporting graphics.
\n

Website & Digital Presence

\n

\n
• Manage and maintain the firm's website and ensure content remains current, accurate, and visually engaging.
\n
• Assist with development of a new firm website, including organization of content, project portfolios, staff profiles, imagery, and other information.
\n
• Coordinate with outside web developers or consultants when specialized services are required.
\n
• Maintain project and staff content within the firm's content management system.
\n
• Monitor website performance and make recommendations for improving usability, content, search visibility, and overall user experience.
\n
• Apply basic SEO principles to website content.
\n
• Track website analytics and provide periodic recommendations to firm leadership.
\n

Social Media & Digital Marketing

\n

\n
• Develop and maintain a consistent social media presence for the firm.
\n
• Create, schedule, and publish content for platforms including LinkedIn and Instagram, with additional platforms as appropriate.
\n
• Develop social media content highlighting projects, people, awards, firm activities, community involvement, and industry news.
\n
• Coordinate with project teams to identify opportunities for project-related content.
\n
• Prepare graphics, photography, short-form video, and other visual content for digital platforms.
\n
• Monitor engagement and analytics and make recommendations for improving the firm's digital presence.
\n
• Help establish a consistent voice and visual identity across the firm's social media channels.
\n

Firm Marketing

\n

\n
• Assist in development of the firm's overall marketing and communications materials.
\n
• Assist with the production of RFQ and RFP responses, qualifications packages, and interview presentations.
\n
• Coordinate project award submissions, industry publications, advertisements, conference materials, and other promotional opportunities.
\n
• Assist with firm photography, project photography, staff photography, and image organization.
\n
• Help maintain the firm's marketing calendar and schedule of awards, conferences, events, publications, and other opportunities.
\n
• Stay current with trends in architecture, graphic design, digital marketing, social media, and AEC communications.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Visual Communications, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field preferred.
\n
• Strong graphic design and visual communication skills, demonstrated through a professional portfolio .
\n
• Strong visual judgment and the ability to develop clear, compelling, and consistent communications across print and digital platforms.
\n
• A curiosity about architecture, design, contemporary culture, technology, and communications.
\n
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud , particularly:
\n
• Adobe InDesign
\n
• Adobe Photoshop
\n
• Adobe Illustrator
\n
• Adobe Acrobat
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Word.
\n
• Experience with website content management systems, preferably WordPress or a similar platform.
\n
• Experience creating and managing social media content.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
\n
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with architects, project managers, principals, and other staff.
\n
• Ability to take technical information from architects and transform it into clear, engaging visual and written communications.

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• 2–5 years of professional experience .
\n
• Experience developing or managing an architecture or design firm's website.
\n
• Experience with SEO, Google Analytics/GA4, or other digital marketing analytics.
\n
• Experience with social media scheduling and analytics platforms.
\n
• Experience with photography, photo editing, or basic video production.
\n
• Experience with Mailchimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, Canva, or similar marketing platforms.
\n
• Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and website design principles.
\n
• Experience preparing architectural RFQs, RFPs, proposals, or qualifications packages.
\n
• Familiarity with architectural terminology, project phases, and the AEC project delivery process.
\n
• Experience preparing award submissions or materials for professional design organizations.
\n

Portfolio Requirements

\n

Applicants should provide a portfolio demonstrating professional graphic design and visual communication experience .

\n

The portfolio should ideally include examples of:

• Graphic design and page layout
\n
• Marketing brochures or project sheets
\n
• RFQ/RFP or proposal materials
\n
• Presentations
\n
• Website design or management
\n
• Social media graphics/content
\n
• Branding or visual identity work

• Architectural or design-related communications

A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional graphic design ability may be considered in lieu of some formal educational requirements.

Compensation

\n

\n

$50,000–$70,000 annually , commensurate with experience, technical proficiency, portfolio quality, and AEC industry experience.

\n

\n

Candidates with exceptional graphic design, website development, digital marketing, or AEC marketing experience may be considered at the upper end of the range.

\n

\n

• Establish a consistent and professional visual presence across the firm's marketing materials.

• Become highly proficient in the firm's Adobe Creative Cloud workflow and marketing templates.
\n
• Take ownership of routine RFQ/RFP graphic production.
\n
• Develop and maintain a consistent social media program.
\n
• Help launch or substantially advance the firm's new website.
\n
• Improve the firm's organization of project photography, resumes, project descriptions, and marketing assets.
\n
• Develop strong working relationships with firm leadership and project teams.
\n
• Increase the quality, consistency, and efficiency of the firm's marketing communications.
