Production ManagerThe production department steers the execution, management and administration of production operation details on all 50+ events a year. In tandem with operations, talent management, and finance, the department plays a direct role in liaising with clients, event planners, performing talent, venues, technical and site vendors, labor unions and other key planning agencies to ensure success for all events both front and back of house.In this role, the Production Manager will have the opportunity to manage and support various events throughout the year, creating new ways to address unique challenges and collaborating directly with internal and external stakeholders through the process. The ideal candidate will have the ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to fast-paced changing environments while maintaining quality and exemplary leadership and teamwork.What This Role Will DoBe responsible for all the on-stage, backstage, and other technical and site planning details of eventsDevelop and maintain relative documents including production and site drawings, on-sale layouts, timelines, schedules and artist technical ridersAdvance and obtain technical information, including venue details, production needs, rider requirements, staging, and event capacity changesEnsure all production elements are executed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standardsAdvance technical and site planning details for assigned shows/eventsMaintain regular communications with all stakeholdersAssist in managing technical production (i.e. stage, sound, video, lighting, backline, broadcast, labor crews)Assist in managing site operations (i.e. power, heavy equipment, traffic management, crowd control measures, sanitation, permitting and engineering)Assist with budget management and tracking of assigned responsibilitiesOversee multiple projects from start to finish, including presence on-site from load inEnsure positive and creative environment for planning teamsProactively identify and resolve production risks or issues before they impact show timelines or client satisfactionEnsure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and labor regulationsFacilitate proper interdepartmental communication and organizationFollow up on all action points from internal and external meetingsAssist in producing event debrief documents including settlement notes for finance and suggested notes for the following yearRegular liaising with managing director via weekly meetings, calls and email communicationsWhat This Person Will BringEssential:Detailed project management / planning experienceProduction management experience (3+ years)Vectorworks knowledge and ability to use / AutoCAD experience acceptableComputer literate in Windows applicationsExceptional organizational and administrative skills, both written and verbalAbility to prioritize and meet deadlinesProcurement of vendors (staging, audio, lighting, video…etc) and managing staff, services, and budgetsWorking under pressure and ability to make clear concise decisions, sometimes with limited informationAbility to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyFlexible work and extensive travel schedule (days/nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays)Strong people skills with an emphasis on competent and diplomatic communication with client, vendor and artist representativesAbility to learn and adapt to new technology, information, resources and environmentsTolerance of all cultures, music and art formsTolerance of loud noise level in working environmentDesirable:Experience planning large scale events (5,000 people +)Experience in stage management / show runningExperience in site planning and coordinationNegotiation and liaising with agenciesEvent management trainingHealth and safety/crowd management trainingExcellent communication, collaboration and analytical skillsExceptional attention to detail and accuracyExceptional organizational and administrative skillsAnticipatory and proactive approach to problem solving
