Designed for early‑career professionals, this role provides hands‑on experience across CIC’s business lines, including underwriting, financial analysis, documentation, compliance, and portfolio support. The role works closely with CIC management and Credit Management to help evaluate and manage community development investments. In this position, the Analyst will have the opportunity to gain significant exposure to banking, credit risk and commercial real estate – particularly affordable housing (Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)) – and the fundamentals of community development finance.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCredit Analysis & UnderwritingGather, review, and analyze financial and business information to support credit decisions for loans and tax credit investmentsAssist in evaluating borrower, sponsor, and guarantor financial condition, including identifying key strengths and risksSupport underwriting of affordable housing and community development transactions, including tax credit equity and debtAssist in the timely preparation of written credit analysis and internal approval materialsPortfolio, Asset Management & Construction SupportMonitor financial reporting requirements and assist with portfolio and asset management activitiesProvide administrative and analytical support for Asset Management activities, including invoice preparation, cash receipt processing, fee‑related requests, and tax credit compliance analysisAssist in monitoring construction and lease‑up progress through review of draw requests, inspections, and project schedulesAssist in conducting periodic property site visits/inspections and preparation of potential issuesDocumentation, Coordination & Professional DevelopmentParticipate in required Credit Analyst training, including Huntington’s Credit CollegeObtain, track, and follow up on required financial, legal, and third‑party documentationCoordinate with internal teams and external partners as neededManage multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively across teamsPerform other related duties as assignedBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Urban Planning, Economics, or a related field.Preferred QualificationsGPA of 3.5 or higherInternship or work experience in finance, banking, or Commercial Real EstateStrong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional presence with confidence and ability to engage at all organizational levelsAccounting experience including classes taken in collegeStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-throughHighly motivated, customer-focused, and goal-orientedAbility to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple prioritiesProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and internet research toolsWillingness and ability to travel periodically within Huntington’s footprintExempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) ( No = eligible for overtime pay)NoWorkplace Type:OfficeOur Approach to Office Workplace TypeCertain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
