Biology Teacher (1.0 FTE) Eastlake High School

Eastlake High School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and committed science educator to join our science department as a biology teacher for the 2026–27 school year. Key Responsibilities Design and implement engaging, standards‑based lessons. Cultivate a supportive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to learn. Collaborate closely with colleagues to plan curriculum, align assessments, and support school‑wide goals. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and tailor instruction to individual needs. Build strong, caring relationships with students, promoting both academic and personal growth. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to maintain a positive learning environment. Embrace and model the Eastlake credo in daily interactions and professional conduct. Qualifications Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Biology or General Science. A deep commitment to student‑centered teaching, inclusion, and equity. Strong collaboration skills and a team‑oriented mindset. A passion for science education and meaningful student relationships. Preferred Experience working with high school students (ages 14–19). Familiarity with science instruction and hands‑on lab practices. Enthusiasm for contributing to a school culture where everyone feels at home. Additional science endorsements (Chemistry, Physics). Salary and Benefits Paid per teacher salary schedule with Base contract plus additional contracts for LEAP days, Responsibility, and a Technology stipend and Professional Fund.
