License: ARDMS registry
Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association

- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
- Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Experience in understanding and usage of computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position.


Description:
The Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures to obtain desired imaging results according to physician specifications.
This includes transferring patients for examinations and assisting with the ultrasound examination process.
Responsible for the appropriate operation of all ultrasound imaging and related equipment.
Educates, positions, immobilizes patients and performs ultrasound procedures.
Coordinates ultrasound examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
Understands and follows provider imaging orders correctly.
Submits required images and related clinical information to the Radiologist for interpretation.
Appropriately evaluates image quality.
Communicates openly, accurately, and responsively with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership.
Utilizes, charges, and maintains department supplies effectively.
Practices sterile technique and follows infection prevention policies.
Handles multiple tasks/projects and meets deadlines.
Safely performs ultrasound procedures, including patient transfer.
