As a Full-Time Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Tank's Recycling and Landfill, you will have the exciting opportunity to travel between various sites in Tucson, working on a diverse range of heavy equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining essential equipment such as wood grinders, excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, and over-the-road commercial vehicles. Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems are crucial for diagnosing and resolving issues effectively. Competency in welding, both stick and wire, as well as hard surfacing of wear parts, will further enhance your ability to maintain equipment to the highest standards. Additionally, familiarity with onsite work in the field will be invaluable, ensuring you can adapt to various challenges while delivering reliable solutions. Required Certification A Heavy Equipment Mechanic certification from CAT, John Deere, or an accredited trade school is required. Knowledge And Skills Required For The Position Are all types of construction equipment working in the field high and low speed grinders recycling equipment over the road commercial vehicles strong troubleshooting skills with hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems competent at welding (stick and wire) and hard surfacing of wear parts Must be drug-free and submit to a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
