Billing Manager

We are seeking an experienced Billing Manager to lead a high-performing billing team and oversee the full billing cycle for a growing organization. This role will manage a team of approximately 10 billing professionals while ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections support, process improvement, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong billing operations experience, a passion for developing teams, and the ability to drive efficiency and accuracy in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Manage, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 10 billing specialists and coordinators. Establish performance expectations, provide coaching, and conduct regular performance discussions. Monitor workload distribution and ensure team productivity and service levels are met. Foster a collaborative, customer‑focused, and accountable team environment. Identify training opportunities and support professional growth within the department. Billing Operations Oversee all aspects of the billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice generation. Review and approve complex billing transactions, adjustments, credits, and corrections. Ensure compliance with client contracts, company policies, and billing procedures. Partner with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teams to resolve billing issues. Monitor billing metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy. Prepare and analyze billing reports, aging reports, and key performance indicators. Reconcile billing activity and support month‑end close procedures. Assist with revenue reporting and forecasting activities. Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed. Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and analysis. Process Improvement Evaluate existing billing processes and implement best practices to improve workflow and controls. Lead system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process optimization projects. Develop and maintain billing policies, procedures, and documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 5+ years of billing, revenue cycle, accounts receivable, or related finance experience. 2+ years of direct people management experience. Proven experience leading and developing a team. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. Experience managing a billing team of 5+ employees. Experience with ERP or billing systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Workday, Epic, or similar platforms. Background in healthcare, professional services, logistics, staffing, construction, or other high‑volume billing environments. Process improvement or project leadership experience.
