There is something for everyone in this culturally diverse city.Job RequirementsEducation and Work Experience:High School Education/GED or equivalent: RequiredLicenses/Certifications:Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredSuccessful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) within six months of hire: PreferredPhlebotomy certificate: PreferredFacility Specific License/Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredHospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS): RequiredEssential FunctionsSets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers. Maintains responsibility for accurately and responsively performing routine assigned tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practitioner for patient care. Performs simple, routine tasks of care for patients and reports patients' status and concerns to Registered Nurses (RNs).Performs blood collection by venipuncture and arterial puncture. Assists in preparation of specimens, operation of selected equipment and clerical duties.Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician. Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior healthcare staff for direction or subject matter expertise.Maintains responsibility for accurately and responsively performing routine assigned tasks of limited complexity, e.g., checking blood pressure, taking vitals, recording medicines and scribing.
