Vice President of Operations

Position Summary: The Vice President of Operations (VP of Operations) is a crucial executive role responsible for overseeing and improving the efficiency, profitability, and compliance of the organization's operations. The VP of Operations will report directly to the Executive Vice President (EVP) and collaborate closely with other senior leaders to ensure alignment with our core values of Integrity, Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence. This position requires a dynamic leader with a strategic mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a strong dedication to operational excellence and continuous improvement. Integrity:

• Profitability: Ensure organizational profitability by helping the leadership team meet and exceed budgets and clinical effectiveness.
• Budget Adherence: Adhere to budgets; monitor staffing hours and overtime to prevent crises.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and company rules.
• Operations Monitoring: Develop systems to monitor operations, including occupancy rate, income and expenses, inventories, satisfaction, and meetings.
• Records Maintenance: Maintain HIPAA-compliant, accurate records for individuals, prospective individuals, and employees.
• Administrative Duties: Perform administrative duties, including month-end reports.
• Duties Adaptation: Adapt to changing duties based on individual needs, staffing, circumstances, and strategy.
• Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Fair Training: Ensure fair and timely corrective actions, performance improvement, and training.
• Service Evaluation: Contract and evaluate service contractor performance.
• Cooperates with Beacon Specialized Living, the Department of Human Services (DHS) staff or any other regulatory body during any inspection, investigation or inquiry.

• Regulatory Relationships: Manage state and local relationships with regulators.
• Marketing Efforts: Oversee marketing efforts, prospective individual support, follow-up, and occupancy rates.
• Suitability Assessment: Develop systems for determining individuals' suitability for transfer based on their mental and physical conditions.
• Compliance Assistance: Assist Compliance with final responses, correspondence, and corrective action plans for investigations and inspections.

• Staff Supervision: Recruit, hire, train, discipline, and supervise staff.
• Interviewing & Placement: Facilitate the interviewing, placement, and training of direct and indirect reports.
• Coordination: Coordinate individual move-ins, transfers, and terminations as needed.
• Contract Adherence: Ensure review of each individual's status and ability to adhere to BSLS contracts.
• Monitor both state and national advocacy groups (i.e. ARM, ANCOR, NJACP, PA-PAR, OH-OPRA, VA-The ARC.) Excellence:
• Operational Oversight: Oversee Operations and collaborate with Clinical and Medical Services, Access Management, IT, Food Services, and Facilities/Maintenance.
• Training Systems: Ensure systems are in place for training and onboarding direct reports and Care Team Managers.
• Problem Solving: Engage subordinates in problem-solving and achieving positive outcomes. • Continuous Improvement: Seek continuous improvement and innovation in operational processes. Performance and Evaluation: In addition to evaluating your work performance you will be evaluated for the following work behaviors:

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in nursing, Behavioral Health, Business Administration, Social Work or related field required, Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Must be an excellent communicator and able to communicate effectively with employees, individual served, families, regulatory officials, state hospitals and the general public.
• A minimum of 5-10 years in an AFC, nursing home administrator, or manager of operations position preferred.
• Must have compassion for and a desire to work with special populations with IDD and chronic illnesses.
• Previous experience in behavioral health and human services related environments preferred.
• Must have experience overseeing multiple communities/homes.
• Experience with financial reporting and managing multiple budgets.
• Ongoing approval by Federal, State and local government entities to work at the company.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA, medical management, and care plan record keeping and billing documents.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
• Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
• Must be compliant with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
