Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring adult and pediatric critical care experience, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.

Job Details

• 13-week contract on the RRT unit,
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM,
• Every 3rd weekend required,
• Holiday rotation required,
• Provides adult and pediatric critical care respiratory services,
• Patient ratio of 1:20,
• Experience in ED, Adult ICU, and Peds general care required, PICU experience preferred,
• Servo I ventilator experience preferred,
• Performs airway management, medication administration, vent management, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, bronchoscopy assist, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, and CPAP,
• Travelers may be floated to any facility campus as needed,
• Epic EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required,
• NC state license required if applicable,
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required,
• NRP certification preferred,
• Trauma Level II experience required, Trauma Level I experience preferred,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed),
• Third-party education verification required,
• No open background check cases permitted,
• Current driver's license required to verify address,

Additional Information

• Candidates with minimal pediatric experience will be considered, but adult critical care experience is required,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy, with cystic fibrosis and ECMO experience preferred,
• Performs ventilator management including troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation,
• Skilled in airway management devices, suctioning, and tracheostomy care,
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures including CPAP, intubation assist, and pressure/volume ventilators preferred,
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted,
• No local candidates permitted within 50 miles of the facility
