Registered Nurse - Post Partum (Mother/Baby Unit)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Partum unit. The RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive care for new mothers and their infants following vaginal or cesarean deliveries. This role requires proficiency in post-partum assessments and the ability to monitor the health of newborns, including frequent assessments for weights and bilirubin issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct post-partum assessments for new mothers.
• Provide appropriate care for both vaginal and cesarean section deliveries.
• Monitor and assess infants, including weight checks and bilirubin monitoring.
• Assist with lactation support as needed.
• Float to other units as required, based on competencies.

Schedule

This position will require a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including a 30-minute unpaid break. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State RN License (at time of submission)
• NRP and BLS certifications required
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the post-partum specialty is preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, but not mandatory

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
