Rails Developer

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain features in a Rails 8.1 application that serves real customer traffic; Take ownership of key areas of the platform, from design through to production; Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews and technical planning together with the team; Improve the reliability, performance and maintainability of the platform, including refactoring legacy parts where it pays off; Support deployments, monitoring and production troubleshooting across the current environments; Build and maintain integrations with third-party travel suppliers and internal services; Promote solid engineering practices: automated testing, CI/CD, clear documentation, sensible upgrade paths; Partner with product and business stakeholders to turn requirements into well-scoped technical solutions.

Requirements

5+ years of commercial experience with Ruby; Strong, hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails in production, including recent versions (Rails 7/8); Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ideally including running Rails applications on it; Solid knowledge of relational databases and SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL or MySQL); Experience writing automated tests with RSpec or Minitest; A proactive, ownership-driven approach and the ability to work autonomously; Upper-Intermediate English or higher.
