Tax Associate (4-8 yrs) - Am Law 200 Firm

About the Position:

Our client, a national Am Law firm, is seeking a transactional tax attorney to join its Chicago office as an associate. The firm’s tax practice handles both planning and controversy work, counseling a broad range of clients, from Fortune 100 companies and financial institutions to nonprofits, health care organizations, and individuals, on federal, state, local and international tax matters, transaction structuring, and disputes with taxing authorities.

Responsibilities:

· Counsel individuals and businesses on tax planning in connection with entity formation, deal structuring, acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, and restructurings

· Analyze the federal and state tax consequences of business transactions

· Represent clients in federal tax audits and administrative appeals

· Serve as a liaison between clients and state and local taxing authorities

Required Qualifications:

· 4-8 years of tax planning and transactional tax experience

· LL.M. in Taxation

· Strong academic record and comfort working directly with clients

Location:

Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $225,000 - $325,000.
