About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Tele CWR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a Med Surg/Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting required. Must have a strong Med Surg/Tele background. License: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license required. Certifications: - NIHSS - Telemetry - BLS-AHA - CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours - ACLS Must-Have: - RN experience - Med Surg/Tele background - Communication skills - Teamwork skills - Compassionate nature Description: The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patients' needs. Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plans of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments. Initiates assessment based on the patients' problems or needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework. Performs therapeutic nursing interventions. Manages the care of patients. Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities. Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. Provides patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. This is an extremely busy 52-bed medical surgical unit. Patients could be step-down patients at times. Patient assignment is 1:4 or 1:5. Floating may be required. Soft skills preferred include great communication, teamwork, and a compassionate individual. Scrubs are navy blue.
