Sr Data Scientist

Job Description Job Description: Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist, Sourcing Evolution for a top supply chain and logistics-focused client. This candidate will serve as a strategic leader responsible for transforming sourcing operations from a reactive model into a predictive, autonomous network. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, optimization, and supply chain expertise to drive sourcing margin improvements through enhanced service, speed, capacity, and cost efficiencies. This individual will act as a force multiplier across the organization, identifying high-impact opportunities, guiding engineering investment priorities, and developing sophisticated models that enable real-time fulfillment decisioning. The role offers the opportunity to influence large-scale sourcing strategy, partner directly with senior leadership, and help build the future of autonomous supply chain orchestration through advanced machine learning and intelligent optimization solutions. Day-to-Day:

• Design and develop probabilistic models for expanded Smart Fulfill operations
• Create dynamic decisioning models to optimize fulfillment mode selection in real time
• Analyze delivery trends, sourcing data, and customer order patterns to improve margin performance
• Present recommendations and insights to leadership teams
• Prioritize data science initiatives within the Sourcing organization
• Mentor and support junior data scientists
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify fulfillment optimization opportunities
• Translate supply chain business needs into technical solutions
• Educate business partners on advanced analytics concepts and capabilities
• Build trust with stakeholders to drive adoption of predictive and autonomous sourcing solutions
• Research emerging data science methodologies, ML agents, and optimization techniques
• Develop reusable algorithms, documentation, and data products
• Define best practices for data analysis, modeling, and sourcing optimization

This role is a long term contract based on net new needs for the company within their supply chain division. This role is expected to pay between $50-$60/hr based on a variety of factors and is subject to change. • 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science, or related field
• Strong Supply Chain and/or Delivery Sourcing domain expertise
• Deep understanding of customer order data, delivery trends, and logistics operations
• Advanced Python programming experience
• Strong SQL skills with large-scale datasets (BigQuery preferred)
• Experience building predictive and probabilistic models
• Expertise in prescriptive modeling, optimization, recommendation systems, or NLP
• Proven track record identifying high-impact opportunities through predictive analytics and data mining
• Experience translating business problems into scalable data science solutions
• Strong stakeholder communication and executive presentation skills
• Experience leading data science initiatives and influencing strategic decisions Plusses:
• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or related quantitative field
• Experience with dynamic decisioning and real-time mode-switching algorithms
• Tableau or advanced data visualization expertise
• Experience mentoring junior data scientists
• Background in machine learning agents and autonomous decision-making systems
• Experience building self-healing supply chain networks
• Knowledge of advanced logistics optimization and routing technologies
