Senior Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave Design Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave Design Engineer within our Airborne Radar Electronics Design Hardware Engineering directorate. This on‑site position in ElSegundo, California will focus on developing and testing circulators, radiators, filters, and passive components for phased‑array antennas. The Engineer will perform design analysis, verification, troubleshooting, and testing of RF/microwave sub‑components, work with simulation tools and microwave test equipment, design circuit layouts for printed circuit board and ceramic substrate materials, deliver technical presentations, and support new business development. Responsibilities Participate in development of state‑of‑the‑art circulators, radiators, filters, and passive components. Conduct design analysis, verification, troubleshooting, and testing of circulators, radiators, and RF/microwave sub‑components used in phased‑array antennas. Apply microwave measurement and verification techniques, simulation tools, and microwave test equipment. Design circuit layouts for implementation in printed circuit board materials and ceramic substrates. Deliver technical presentations to peers, program leadership, and customers. Assist program management with new business development. Qualifications – Must Have Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field. Minimum five (5) years of experience designing, simulating, implementing, testing, integrating, verifying, validating, and delivering RF/microwave products. Experience with Ansys HFSS, CST, or FEKO. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship required). Qualifications – Preferred M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in RF/Microwave. Design experience with phased‑array antennas, radiating elements, beamformers, power splitters, feed networks, couplers, filters, circulators, or RF modules/assemblies. Experience with microwave test equipment, vector‑network analyzer, antenna‑range testing, and calibration techniques. Experience with root‑cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations. Experience with requirement generation, validation, and verification. Proficiency with Keysight ADS, MATLAB, and AutoCAD. Hardware experience at microwave and millimeter‑wave frequencies. Leadership experience: coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to junior team members. Benefits Competitive salary range: $95,500 – $181,700 USD. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
