Role Description The Operational Specialist is a part-time, on-site role based in Kearny, NJ, supporting day-to-day freight and logistics operations. This role includes coordinating shipments, tracking deliveries, and ensuring documentation is accurate and compliant with company and regulatory standards. The Operational Specialist will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and customers to resolve operational issues, optimize routes, and maintain service levels. Responsibilities also involve monitoring key operational metrics, identifying process bottlenecks, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse and transportation workflows. The role may support sales and account teams with operational data, status updates, and basic project coordination to ensure smooth execution of client shipments. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret operational data, identify trends, and support process optimization. Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to interact effectively with customers, carriers, and internal teams. Candidates should possess Sales-related skills, including customer service orientation and the ability to support account management activities. Candidates should possess Operations Management skills to coordinate freight movements, manage documentation, and maintain service standards. Candidates should possess Project Management skills to help plan, track, and follow up on shipping and logistics initiatives. Knowledge of freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations is highly beneficial. Proficiency in common office software and logistics platforms; ability to learn new systems quickly. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
