You'll partner with internal teams and client contacts to deliver seamless execution, creative solutions, and a superior client experience.Why Alera GroupMeaningful Impact: Help clients and employees navigate benefits programs that drive retention, engagement, and satisfactionGrowth & Learning: Opportunities to deepen your expertise and gain exposure to a variety of clients and industriesCollaborative Culture: Work in a team-oriented environment that values accountability, partnership, and the principles of The Collaborative WayWhat You'll DoResponsibilities vary depending on the specific corporate function but may include:Supporting strategic finance initiatives that drive operational excellence, accuracy, and organizational growthPartnering with cross-functional teams across agency, regional, and corporate accounting functions to support consistent financial operationsManaging functional workflows related to commission processing, agency billing, producer compensation, and accounts payableProcessing and reconciling commissions, fees, reimbursements, and expenses to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger postingAdministering and maintaining commission processing systems, including setup of customers, producers, carriers, rate tables, and electronic remittance mappingsAnalyzing commission data and reports to identify discrepancies, missing payments, and errors and coordinating resolutionPreparing and distributing commission statements and payroll reporting related to commissions and bonusesAssisting with month-end close activities to ensure accurate agency-level accounting recordsManaging accounts receivable activities including invoicing clients and monitoring outstanding balancesSupporting carrier setup, credentialing, and compliance activitiesReviewing, coding, and submitting accounts payable transactions and coordinating vendor setupAnalyzing financial data and operational reports to inform decision-making and improve outcomesEnsuring compliance with organizational policies, accounting standards, and internal controlsContributing to a collaborative culture that supports colleagues across Alera Group's national networkWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience3+ years of experience in a staff accountant, senior accountant, or commission accounting roleStrong knowledge of accounting processes including commissions, billing, and accounts payableIntermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelExperience with CRM, commission processing, or accounting systemsStrong organizational and project management skillsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilitiesAnalytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organizationWhat Sets You Up for SuccessAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentStrong sense of accountability and ownership for accuracy, deadlines, and outcomesCuriosity and willingness to continuously learn and improve financial processesStrategic thinking balanced with hands-on executionAbility to manage multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgencyCommitment to supporting a performance-based and client-focused cultureAdaptability and calm under pressure in dynamic environmentsCompensation: Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000 per yearBenefits: Alera Group offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, 401(k), generous PTO, and more.Work Model: This role is RemoteProfessional Development – Alera Group AcademyAt Alera Group, growth isn't left to chance.
