The Development Assistant (DA) supports the development team to implement fundraising strategies of Jewish Family Services. The DA maintains donor records and the JFS website, updates development materials, and is the lead for many stewardship and outreach activities.

This is a part-time position, up to 15 hours per week, with additional hours on occasion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains donor database and individual donor and foundation files.
• Produces tax, thank you, and other stewardship letters.
• Coordinates the production of development and marketing materials.
• Creates the JFS Annual Report, donor listing, and prepares the comprehensive demographic overview for all of JFS' programs annually.
• Serves as a key contact for Neighborhood Assistance Program for both donors and Virginia Department of Social Services to confirm, process, and facilitate the necessary certificates to donors for qualifying gifts.
• Serves as a key contact for event logistics, including venues, hospitality, set up, and volunteers.
• Maintains website via WordPress.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• At least one year of experience in fundraising, non-profit work, sales, communications, or high-level volunteer management.
• Outstanding computer skills including MS Office, database management, and graphics systems.
• Experience in WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact and eTapestry a plus.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, fun environment.
