About Lerner Tower 5 (Medical Cardiology Acute Care Unit) Lerner Tower 5 is a Medical Cardiology unit that cares for high‑risk cardiac conditions. We are a 30‑bed unit and our employees pick each other up both personally and professionally each and every shift. Common diagnoses include: Fluid Volume Overload, Acute Myocardial Infarction, Atrial fibrillation, GI Bleed from anticoagulation, Acute on Chronic Heart Failure. Weekender Position Individuals hired for a Weekender position are required to work two (2) 12‑hour shifts between 7:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Monday. In return for this commitment, Weekenders will be compensated at 1.5 times their regular hourly rate for these shifts. Individuals in Weekender roles qualify for full‑time medical and dental benefits, whereas eligibility for all other benefits is at part‑time levels.
