Maintenance Mechanic

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at a chemical manufacturing facility. Due to our status as a Union shop, shifts can change based on seniority. Initial training will take place over the first 60 working days on the 1st shift (6am-2:30pm). After training, the position will likely transition to the 2nd shift (2:30pm-10:30pm). There is a mandatory work schedule on Saturdays, with two Saturdays on and one Saturday off. The role involves contact with chemicals used in mothballs and toilet bowl cleaners, with full personal protective equipment provided.

Responsibilities

• Learn each production line and its operation, and train others on each station.
• Examine, test, maintain, and repair all plant machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations, including designing and fabricating parts if necessary.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, which may require reading and interpreting equipment manuals.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and make adjustments as needed.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment using various tools.
• Set up and change over tooling on machines.
• Record and log maintenance repairs and inspections on machines, communicating all actions, irregularities, repairs, and inspections.
• Fully understand and comply with LOTO procedures.
• Comply with plant rules and safety regulations.

• Experience as a maintenance technician, with skills in maintenance repair and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
• Skilled in diagnosing equipment failures and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Capability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

• Ability to perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Experience in conducting equipment inspections and documenting maintenance activities accurately.
• Skill in installing, modifying, and maintaining production machinery and related equipment.
• Experience in assisting with equipment upgrades, machine rebuilds, and continuous improvement projects.
• Strong compliance with safety regulations, GMP standards, and company policies.
• Ability to collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.

Work Environment

Work in a chemical manufacturing facility producing mothballs and toilet cleaning tablets. The role involves standing or walking 67-100% of the time and requires lifting, pushing, and pulling of various weights. Utilize small hand and power tools extensively and maintain communication with a variety of team members to ensure safety and efficiency.

The pay range for this position is $74276.80 - $74276.80/yr.
