Food Service Worker / Cashier Job Description Summary The Food Service Worker/Cashier provides food preparation services, assists catered events, and performs general customer service including cashiering duties at an OhioHealth caresite. Responsibilities and Duties 25% Prepare hot and cold foods for patients and retail customers according to standardized recipes; use cooking and prep equipment properly. 25% Follow safe food handling practices, maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment, notify supervisors of equipment malfunctions, and perform basic housekeeping duties. 35% Cashiering: complete opening and closing procedures, balance cash register, prepare deposit slips, handle cash and various credit card transactions, process over-rings, refunds, and payouts with supervisor approval. 10% Independently take customer orders, prepare special orders, and develop repeat business by interacting socially with customers; address concerns promptly. 5% Perform other duties as assigned; work within a High Reliability Organization focused on safety, quality, and efficiency. Minimum Qualifications • No degree or diploma required. Required Skills Ability to read, write, understand verbal and written instructions, and perform basic math calculations. Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling techniques. Proper use of equipment such as knives, mixers, and other kitchen tools.
